Dear Readers,
I hope that you all are fine and enjoying this winter. A happy new year to all of you as it is 1st January today and exactly 20 days remaining in final papers of this semester. So, I have been busy with my studies and did not write any blog post also I have been too preoccupied with Buitems Radio on our site. I had an amazing weekend at Youth X-Po Quetta(24-25th Dec, 2011) and I guess most of you missed it already!
So coming to the topic Youth X-Po Quetta was organized at BUITEMS by ODY(Organization of Development of Youth) and SOL(School of Leadership).
What is Youth X-Po?
As the Youth X-Po’s own website says:
Youth X-Po is a 2-day re-energizing conference, with the theme of
‘Exploring Possibilities’Based on the biggest challenged faced by YOUth:
Mental barriers to solve problems, expecting someone else to do it for us;
even though we are sanctified with vast resources.
Why Youth X-Po?
B r e a k mental barriers & generate a ‘YES’ attitude to exploit potential & win in life
Realize global opportunities to accomplish socio-economic-civic achievements
While a short summary on my account is that Youth X-Po is a 2 days program to let youth realize they aren’t alone and they have a lot of resources the only problem is that they don’t know how to use it for their and the benefit of all. The reason for that is that they do not know what they are capable of and they solely depend on others. So, youth X-po lets them realize their own capabilities and how to use their abilities enabling them do great wonders!
As an example, the ODY is an organization formed by the very own Alumni of BUITEMS. These students attended an event like Youth X-Po named YLC arranged by SOL which refined them to what they are today more or less. So, in short attending Youth X-Po is worth a lot!
With all that being said, I’ll describe my own experience in short. We had 2 trainers one for each day. 1st day trainer was Kamran Rizvi also known as Kambha. He has been working as an inspirational coach for a long time and is co-founder of SOL. They guy was more energized than any young man sitting there! He gave many great ideas and visions to all of us. I can write a whole post about him and his lectures but lets leave that for future. For now I’ll quote his words that I can’t forget “Source of confidence is truth.”
Tea breaks, lunch and Namaz breaks were also included in the program. On 1st day there were some energizing activities and exercises which energized us to such a level that is expressible right now. 1st day was mainly focused on yourselves. We were energized after first day and believed that we are capable to do a lot which we thought isn’t possible some time in our lives. We were motivated and focused on self and leadership.
The 2nd day trainer was Umair Jaliawala. He is a young and one of most energetic youth inspirational trainers of Pakistan. Starting of his session was very humors but as it rose to climax it became more serious and focused. Umair showed us the opportunities and the problems during the first half. during the lunch break all the participants were handicapped in some way. Both hands were tied of some, some got their legs tied together some got their eyes blindfolded. To realize those who are naturally handicapped how they feel. After the lunch everyone had learnt their lesson. Then examples where told or shown in form of videos of handicapped people how they have done things far greater than what we with all physical blessing can’t do. Umair motivated us that if special people can do such these things why not us!
During both days there were some guest professors or professionals who gave different presentations including Sir. Muhammad Shah, Jawad, Ms. Faiza Mir and many other well known people. One person is simply unforgettable. Not only because of his achievements but also for his determination!
This young man is currently a PhD Professor in Iran. His story started from his childhood. He lived with some other family where he was treated as servant. he received his early education from English medium school. But later he wasn’t allowed to study so he did private FA. He used to clean the house milk cows and later when he didn’t find any job he became Gardner. While he was Gardner he passed private BA exam. He started writing and within some time his publications were so many and famous that he was offered honorary degree from a university of Iran.
In short, the Youth X-Po was some thing that changed the lives of those who attended it while those who missed it simply missed a lot. Such events should be organized and it is not only the responsibility of organizations but each and everyone of us including me and you. We have time now to change our future so lets not waste it and let others exploit our present and future both.
